Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies. Our respected client is seeking an experienced professional to fill the job of Research and Development Manager, to be based Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The winning candidate will build and lead a technical team to deliver excellence in R&D Scientific Services in Indonesia with a significant focus on recruitment, growth and development of young scientists and technical project managers.

Key responsibilities will include:
Specific responsibility for Household products and new product introductions in the area

Working closely with Marketing to deliver product launches successfully and on time in the region and to support business development initiatives with claims and demos, including comparisons with competitor products

Working closely with Manufacturing to ensure appropriate support of the expansion of manufacturing capabilities in Indonesia and to represent SSG voice and needs in the expansion of the laboratory facilities.

Drive the technical work on cost saving initiatives and be the R&D voice in the region for all cost saving work

Working closely with R&D Category to support and to facilitate all globally lead activities related to Power brands in Indonesia

Working effectively with key functional groups (Regulatory, Quality, HR, and Finance) to support in a fast and professional way the three key stakeholders mentioned above

Following approval of Project Briefs, to be accountable for:
Achievement of project development milestones and objectives

Liaison and motivation of the appropriate RB functions and external resources to ensure completion of all activities to plan

Timely completion of specifications, support data and generation of the Technical Dossiers for product launches

Allocation of resources within the team to meet agreed project objectives, timelines and raise and resolve any projects priority conflicts

Build a cohesive, motivated and professional team within a results-oriented culture, where personal responsibility/initiative, teamwork, and mutual respect are the key

Development of his/her team members to enable them to achieve their full potential, including project management and formulation development

Local budget allocation, tracking and management

Recruit team members to ensure strengthening of the bench

Ensuring that all development activity within the team conforms with legislative, Health and Safety and environmental requirements

Requirements:
Degree in pharmaceutical/food technology/chemical or related field

Eight years’ experience within FMCG Company running a small development team

Experience working with remote line-management.

Experience with recruitment, management and development of people

Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with solid planning and organizational capabilities, a bias for action, and the capability to define, evaluate and take risks

Good leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills

Global mindset, commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues

Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically, develop tactics and measurable implementation plans and able to transform solid thinking into action

Excellent communication skills

Strong intellectual curiosity with an appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories and an openness to change and ability to think out of the box

Proven ability to work under pressure without compromising on deliverables
