Project Description

:

PAKLIM focuses on the promotion and implementation of environmental and climate policy in Indonesia and is planned for eight years (01/2009 until 12/2016). The overall programme consists of three components: (1) Climate policy advice at national level, (2) greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation in cities and urban areas, and (3) greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency in industries and industrial parks. The objective of the consultancy is to implement the third component.

Job Description

:

The programme cooperates with a multitude of different actors (multi-stakeholder approach). Main tasks include a close cooperation with the teams of the other two components, with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Environment. To facilitate the process of approaching companies, the consultancy should capitalise on the chamber of commerce and the management structures of industrial estates.

Companies together with governmental staff should be supported to implement voluntary commitments to mitigate emissions (signed agreements, audits). Energy managers, industrial park operators and service providers should be enabled to support industrial enterprises to finance their mitigation activities. Capacity development strategies to strengthen climate relevant activities should be implemented with special attention to gender specific issues.

As an overall objective the consultancy has the responsibility to ensure that models on efficient and effective measures to mitigate greenhouse gas emission in the industries will be tested and be available for distribution.

Qualifications

:

wide range of experience in the field of climate change, energy efficiency and environmental management

a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the relevant field

a minimum of 5 years of managerial responsibility and project management experience

excellent language skills in German and English; Bahasa Indonesia is not obligatory but desirable

experiences working in the private sector or in close cooperation with it

experience in capacity building for companies for implementing energy efficiency measures

experience as long-term expert in a similar project

experience with GIZ (not obligatory but desirable)
